Invest in Yourself

The meaning of things lies not in the things themselves, but in our attitude towards them; Just change your perspective & your world changes

The mind is everything. What you think you become
Watch your thoughts, they become words.Watch your words, they become actions
Watch your actions, they become habits.Watch your habits, they become character
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny ...

Warren Buffett Principles..

Warren Buffett, often called the "Oracle of Omaha," is renowned for his enduring principles in investing, business, and life. His philosophy is characterized by long-term thinking, deep analysis, and radical simplicity.

Core Investment Principles: Buffett's strategy boils down to a few interlocking tenets, forming a "mental model" for navigating markets:

  • Value Investing: Seek companies trading below their intrinsic value—a discounted cash flow projection of future earnings. Avoid overpaying; as Graham taught, the market is a "voting machine" short-term but a "weighing machine" long-term.
  • Economic Moat: Invest in businesses with durable competitive advantages (e.g., Coca-Cola's brand, Apple's ecosystem) that fend off rivals like a castle moat. "Time is the friend of the wonderful business, the enemy of the mediocre."
  • Circle of Competence: Stick to industries you understand deeply. Buffett skips tech booms he can't grasp, saying, "Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing."
  • Margin of Safety: Buy at a significant discount to intrinsic value to buffer errors or downturns. Rule #1: Don't lose money. Rule #2: Never forget Rule #1.
  • Quality Management: Back leaders with integrity, intelligence, and energy who allocate capital wisely—treating shareholders as partners, not ATMs.

These principles compound: Spot a moat-protected gem in your competence zone, buy cheap with a safety margin, and let capable managers steer.

Buffett's entire philosophy boils down to rationality, patience, and integrity. He seeks simple solutions to complex problems by applying timeless principles, viewing investments as ownership stakes, and letting time and compounding do the heavy lifting. Buffett's philosophy isn't a formula for quick wins but a lifelong discipline: Buy quality undervalued, hold eternally, and compound virtues like patience and integrity. In an era of hype and algorithms, his human-centered wisdom endures: "Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." Apply it daily - your future self will thank you.

Failure is not falling down, it is not getting up again. Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm

Where there's a Will, there's a Way. Keep on doing what fear you, that is the quickest and surest way to to conquer it

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. For success, attitude is equally as important as ability

Blogging is about ideas, self-discovery, and growth. This is a small effort to grow outside my comfort zone.

Most important , A Special Thanks to my parents(Sri Ramachandra Rao & Srimathi Nagamani), my wife(Roja), my lovely daughter (Hansini) and son (Harshil) for their inspiration and continuous support in developing this Blog.

... "Things will never be the same again. An old dream is dead and a new one is being born, as a flower that pushes through the solid earth. A new vision is coming into being and a greater consciousness is being unfolded" ... from Jiddu Krishnamurti's Teachings.

Now on disclaimer :
1. Please note that my blog posts reflect my perception of the subject matter and do not reflect the perception of my Employer.

2. Most of the times the content of the blog post is aggregated from Internet articles and other blogs which inspired me. Due respect is given by mentioning the referenced URLs below each post.

Have a great time
